Dallas returns to your screens on M-Net, Tuesday 28 August and original actor, Patrick Duffy says his co-star is the “perfect” TV wife.
The actor has reprised his role as Bobby Ewing in a reboot of the popular US show. A number of new faces have joined the cast, including Desperate Housewives actress Brenda Strong as Ann Ewing. Patrick has revealed he loves working alongside Brenda.
“I have a great wife now. She is unbelievable, for this time period, Brenda is the perfect Mrs Bobby Ewing for right now. She is wonderful, a brilliant actress, as are all our new additions. Look at how pretty they are all,” he said during an interview on UK TV show Lorraine.
“We have a couple (of ugly characters) but we keep them locked upstairs!”Other new additions to Dallas include Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson and Jordana Brewster.
Patrick admits he was relieved to discover that the young stars can act as well as look beautiful.“Brilliant actors, I must say. Not just brilliant actors, but people with such a complete package of qualities,” he explained.
“When we first saw the castings, Larry [Hagman], Linda [Gray] and I, we saw the pictures of everybody and we thought, ‘Well, they are pretty. Are they good?’ And without exception, on any given day, I am stunned by the quality.”
Patrick also spoke about filming love scenes for the new season. The 63-year-old joked that he has ruled out revealing too much of his body on the small screen.
“Yes, but I am in a onesie, it comes up to here [points to chin],” he laughed when asked about his bedroom scenes. “There is just a button in the back, the bare chest days are over!”
