Back from hiatus: The Good Wife gets better

All good things come to those who are patient, and the wait for The Good Wife season four is finally over. The series returns from hiatus on M-Net at 20:30 on Monday evening, with more surprises in store.

If you can’t wait to get stuck into your favourite show, but have forgotten how things were left in the last episode, here’s a recap:

Julianna Margulies is cast as The Good Wife, Alicia Florrick, whose life is catapulted into disarray when her high-profile state’s attorney husband Peter Florrick is publicly ashamed and imprisoned after a degrading sex and corruption scandal. She’s forced to pick up the pieces of her life to care for her kids and goes to work as a litigator.

Despite many trials and tribulations Alicia managed to land on her feet. After having an affair with co-worker Will Gardner, she called things off and from what we last saw may go back to Peter as he runs for governor of Illinois.

As the show returns, Will is defending a man who has been accused of murder. In the meantime, Alicia is trying to influence the outcome of his case by helping the prosecutor in a nearby county who is trying another man for the same crime. Meanwhile, Eli feels heat from the Justice Department, and Nick’s actions force Kalinda’s hand.
